The church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel at Lesnovo was built in 1341 on the south-western slopes of Mount Osogovo, near the place where the hermit St Gabriel of Lesnovo lived. Its frescoes, completed in the 1340s, are among the best preserved of the period. Our advice: combine with Kratovo; dress modestly and keep voices low in the church.
