Built in phases from the 1970s to the 1980s, Janko Konstantinov’s Central Post Office and the neighbouring telecommunications centre are among the most admired buildings of the city rebuilt after 1963, with bold concrete forms around a circular central hall. The complex was declared protected cultural heritage in November 2022. Our advice: see it from the river quay, then walk to the Transport Centre for more of the modernist city.
